Ford is launching its new enhanced Figo just 30 months after launching its hatchback in India. The price does remain the same at Rs. 3,84,999 for the petrol version, keeping it at level with the previous Figo. They have sold over 235,000 units of the car since the launch in March 2010. Ford India has also expanded its dealer network by 40 per cent — mostly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities over the last two years — going up to 230 sales and service outlets in 123 cities. The company plans to increase this to 500 outlets by 2015. Ford sees that the consumption in India is very strong, that the middle class is growing, and that the growth is there. India’s aggregate consumption will quadruple over the next 20 years. India’s middle class will reach 583 million by 2025 as incomes triple. Investors should stay put in India and partake in these companies and their growth.
